CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) UPDATE

During this uncertain time, Fresno Surgical Hospital is committed to providing our patients, staff and the community with up-to-date communication regarding our response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

We are keeping apprised of the latest information provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and other local and global healthcare organizations. FSH has updated many of our policies and procedures to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19 and to help protect our patients, staff and the community. Those policies, including our current no visitor restrictions, can be reviewed here.

The FSH Board of Managers has asked that FSH surgeons review upcoming cases and work together with their patients to determine the urgency of those procedures. Our goal is to immediately reduce the number of cases to ensure FSH does our part to save personal protective equipment (PPE) while caring for those who have urgent medical needs.

Please remember, that it is up to all of us to help reduce the spread of COVID-19. If you suspect you are sick with COVID-19, follow these steps:

  • Call your health care provider to see if you meet COVID-19 criteria and if you need to be tested. COVID-19 symptoms include fever, chills, body aches, cough or runny nose.
  • Stay home except to get medical care, and separate yourself from other people and animals in your home.
  • If you are must seek medical attention from a physician’s office, urgent care, or emergency department, call ahead. Healthcare providers have instituted specific procedures that include screening patients before they are allowed to enter the facilities. Please, do not enter a healthcare facility before you have been properly screened.

The CDC has provided a variety of COVID-10 information, including resources for identifying symptoms, limiting your exposure, and what to do if you become ill. Click here for access to that information.

We appreciate your cooperation and understanding while we do our part to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19. Please call FSH at 559.431.8000 if you have any questions or need to reschedule your procedure.
