Fresno Surgical Hospital Completes 2 Year Re-Construction Project

Local Hospital’s Redesign Will Increase Capacity by 50% to Meet Patient Demand

Fresno Surgical Hospital (FSH) today announced the completion of its 2 year re-construction project.  The hospital underwent the project to meet California’s SB1953 earthquake requirements.  It also included a complete re-construction of five of FSH’s nine operating rooms and an internal re-design which increased the number of pre-op and post-op beds from 14 to 28.

“We are thrilled to be able to unveil our newly redesigned areas to the community and physicians,” says Kristine Kassahn, Chief Executive Office of Fresno Surgical Hospital. “Fresno Surgical Hospital is known for providing efficient, quality care and an outstanding patient experience.  With the re-construction project complete, we can enhance our services even further.”

Hospital officials project that these enhancements will allow FSH to increase its surgical capacity by 50 percent.  In recent years, patient demand has increased due to the reputation FSH has earned for outstanding patient satisfaction, high-quality care and lower costs.

FSH has been honored with numerous awards. Most recently it was recognized by Heathgrades as number one in California for Joint Replacement. More than 80 surgeons from throughout the Central Valley perform procedures at FSH, serving approximately 8,200 patients per year.

“We work hard to make sure the surgeons who perform procedures at FSH have access to the best facilities, tools and staff,” say Kassahn. “Our redesigned facility will help surgeons do their jobs even better, which benefits patients by ensuring they receive the highest quality care and best outcomes.”
