Dr. Samuel Hinton is a board- certified ophthalmologist and partner at EYE-Q Vision Care. He specializes in cataract, laser and pterygium surgery, with over ten years of experience in the field. Dr. Hinton earned his medical degree from Loma Linda University, California and was Chief Resident in Ophthalmology at the University of Louisville, Kentucky.
A Fresno native, Dr. Hinton completed his undergraduate education at Fresno Pacific University. Inspired by ophthalmology at a young age, his interest was initially sparked by a childhood visit to EYE-Q Vision Care.

After completing his Bachelor of Science degree at Brigham Young University, Dr. Rodney Remington went on to receive his medical degree at the University of British Columbia School of Medicine. Dr. Remington completed his residency at the Detroit Medical Center where he published and presented many studies on glaucoma management and was the recipient of numerous research and teaching awards and honors. Dr. Rodney Remington accomplished his fellowship specialty training in glaucoma and cataract diagnosis and care. Today, Dr. Rodney Remington is a glaucoma specialist, focusing his practice on the medical, surgical and laser treatment of glaucoma, as well as cataract and general eye care.

Carolyn Sakauye, M.D. is Board Certified, specializing in corneal diseases and transplants. Dr. Sakauye received her medical training at the University of California, San Diego. She served her internship at California Pacific Medical Center, San Francisco, and her residency at the University of Utah. Dr. Sakauye completed her fellowship at the prestigious Wills’ Eye Hospital in Philadelphia where she learned to diagnose and treat complex corneal problems. Her expertise makes her someone to whom colleagues go to for advice on their most perplexing and challenging corneal cases. Since 2011, Dr. Sakauye has been performing laser-assisted cataract surgery for premium lenses such as toric and multifocal IOLs.
Originally a farm girl from San Jose, Dr. Sakauye joined the Eye Medical Center in 1982 and is married to an emergency room physician.

Dr. Daniel Prescott is a Board Certified ophthalmologist specializing in the diseases of the retina and vitreous. After earning his bachelor’s degree in Natural Science from California State University, Fresno, Dr. Prescott went on to receive his medical degree from Oregon Health & Science University and completed his residency at the University of Missouri-Columbia. Dr. Prescott completed a vitreoretinal fellowship at the University of Kentucky, Louisville. He practiced in Kentucky before deciding to come back home to serve the patients of the San Joaquin Valley. Dr. Prescott is known for his calm and friendly bedside manner as well as his knowledge and skills. He has served as a consultant to Eye Medical Center since 2012.
Dr. Prescott is married and moved back to Northfork, his childhood home. His father was one of the builders of the California Eye Institute and he recalls first watching eye surgery as a child at the CEI surgery center.

Board Certified, Dr. Richard Mendoza specializes in cataract and glaucoma surgery, as well as providing comprehensive ophthalmology care. He received his medical degree from the University of California at Los Angeles School of Medicine and his specialty training at Valley Medical Center. Dr. Mendoza also performs pediatric cataract surgery in addition to having cared for thousands of seniors with cataracts and glaucoma. In November of 2011, he became one of a select number of surgeons across the country to use the LenSx laser for cataract surgery. In addition to laser-assisted cataract surgery, Dr. Mendoza offers patients the options of toric lenses for astigmatism and multifocal intraocular lenses for those desiring independence from eyeglasses.
